What most people refer to as simply "yoga" is actually Hatha Yoga. Hatha Yoga is a system of yoga introduced by Yogi Swatmarama, a yogic sage in the 15th century in India. This particular system of yoga is the most popular one, and it is from which several other Styles of Yoga originated including Power Yoga, Bikram Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, and Kundalini Yoga.

Yoga, athletics, animals and the great outdoors, have always been passions for Martha. Martha has been practicing and teaching a variety of yoga styles for 8 years. She is a certified yoga instructor through the American Yoga Academy, (200 hour course) and The Yoga and Healing Center, (Soul Sweat with Wendy Gross); both of which are recognized by the Yoga Alliance. Martha received her prenatal yoga certification through the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health with Janice Clarfield. Inspired by the birth of her son Jack, she designed and formatted a Mommy and Baby yoga class, and kept the momentum going right through into toddler-hood in teaching "Little Tykes " yoga ; which she has been teaching for the past two years in both schools and yoga studios .
Martha most recently became a certified "Yoga Ed" educator; a Yoga Alliance recognized course that offers a unique program to both children from Kindergarten to grade 8 level, and Teachers, with the one of a kind "Tools for Teachers workshops ", which can be offered in both the school environment or a yoga studio. Martha is also a certified Nia instructor, and has received her Level one in both Reiki and Thai massage.
Martha has also enjoyed being a Master teacher at "Stories In MotionTM" where Dance brings stories to life ". This unique program has experienced great success in both Manhattan and surrounding areas of New York City . Martha's teaching style has been greatly influenced and inspired by her SIM teaching ; and she is hoping to bring this concept to Canada soon .
